(Translation: Hello! Here is some conversational French for you to practice)
Bonjour Hello
Oui/Non Yes/No

Bonsoir (after 6:00pm) Good evening
Bonne nuit Good night
Parlez-vous anglais? Do you speak English?
Je ne comprends pas I don't understand
Je m'appelle . My name is .
Merci (beaucoup) Thank you (very much)
S'il vous plait Please
More to come at Culture Night! We will also go over how to pronounce these.
***New Dates for Culture Night and the Send-Off Event***
Culture Night will be Wednesday, February 29th at 6:30pm in the PAC. You won't want to miss this event. We will go over packing, security, conversational French, and turn in Euro orders to name a few things.
Our Send-Off Event will be Tuesday, March 27th at 6:30pm in the Commons. Students will meet their chaperones, receive luggage tags, the travel itinerary booklet, their travel wear, and Euros (if ordered). All passports and medication must be turned in this evening as well. Parents, if you signed the Over The Counter Medication form and listed anything besides Tylenol, Advil, Aleve, Benadryl, or Tums you will need to provide that medication and turn it in at the Send-Off Event.
Paperwork/Passports
All paperwork and passport copies are now past due and must be turned in by Friday, February 10th. The only exception is passports that have been ordered, but not yet received; however we cannot secure your hotel room without them. We will be contacting all students/adults who have not turned in either their passport copies and/or their paperwork. If you receive an email tomorrow about paperwork and/or passports, it means that we do not have yours. All paperwork and passport copies must be turned in by Friday, February 10th. If we do not have these your participation in the trip is in jeopardy.
Flight Information Packet
Now that the flights have been finalized and assigned we will be mailing out the packet that was mentioned before. You will see this by the middle of next week. It will include flight and hotel information along with travel insurance information.
Payments
The final remaining payments are as follows:
February 15th - Students $400; Chaperones $350; and Shadows $425
March 10th - Students $300; Chaperones $350; and Shadows $425
If you qualify for the cash discount, it will be applied to your account the beginning of March. It will be added back to your account if the final payment is made with a credit card as that will nullify the discount. Because we are finishing paying for flights, hotel rooms, and entry fees for the trip these last two payments must be made on time. We will be contacting anyone who has not made their payment shortly after the due date. This does not apply to those families who made payment arrangements/loan agreements in advance. However you do need to stick to the agreed schedule.
Paris Committee Meeting
There will be a Paris Committee Meeting after the KPAB Booster Meeting on Thursday, February 9th at around 8:00pm. Since Winterline will be rehearsing, we will probably meet in the PAC lobby.
Bonne nuit! Merci d'avoir lu jusqu'à la fin de ce message!

Show Band, Colorguard, & Dance Families and Fans,
Show Band Colorguard and Dance will be traveling to Paris March 30th through April 6th, 2012. A Kamiak Performance Tour is a special event in a young person’s life because it combines three very important elements – it allows them to see a cultural destination with both artistic and historical significance, it is an opportunity to travel with some of their closest high school friends, and it gives the special emphasis on performance - -we are musical ambassadors from the Pacific Northwest, here to share our talent and efforts with the local people.
Chaperone applications, and the 1st payment of $350, are due by Friday, September 9th. We will notify chaperones picked from the applications that are received. If you are chosen to chaperone, we will deposit your check September 15th. We encourage anyone who is interested and has chaperone experience to apply.
If you do not wish to chaperone the trip, don’t worry, you too can be a part of this wonderful experience! The shadow trip allows students’ families to participate in this trip. Shadow travelers participate in most of the events and activities with the students, have the opportunity to explore areas more thoroughly as students rehearse, and have none of the "night duty" of chaperones.
Many of you have already expressed an interest in Shadow Travel by "checking the box" on your students' travel forms. Whether you indicated you wanted to participate, or if you weren't sure but would like to attend now, please turn in the attached form with your initial deposit of $425 no later than September 12th.
All forms and payments can be turned in via the "KPAB Box” in the band room or mailed to
