If your student is performing as a solo or in a duet, participation fees are due to the Kamiak Bookkeeper in the main office, not to the KPAB Treasurer. If your student has funds available in their KPAB student account, those funds can be used to pay these fees, by contacting the KPAB Student Accounts team at kpab.studentaccounts@gmail.com. You can check your student's Kamiak ASB balance by looking on his/her Zangle account. If your stringling student is performing only in a quartet, he/she does not owe any additional participation fees for this activity, as ASB pays the quartet fees.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at orchestraliaison@kamiakarts.org or the liaison for your program, if your student is in band or choir, at bandliaison@kamiakarts.org or choirliaison@kamiakarts.org, respectively.

Symphonic End of Year Update |
Well we are coming into the home stretch so we wanted to get out a few reminders to help keep you on track.
1. Our last concert of the year is on Tuesday, June 7th in the PAC at 7:00. All are welcome. Hospitality will be provided by IO (9th grade orchestra) this time. Please bring your refreshment items to the counter of the concession area in the PAC lobby by 6:45. Last name A-M, please bring store bought cookies, brownies etc. and last name M-Z, drinks. We have cups, trays and napkins already.
And for our Spain families, be sure to sign up for the Spain trip DVD at the concert. They are $5.00 and will be mailed directly to your home. Order forms will be available at the concert. And if you have any super great photos of the trip, esp. of chaperones and shadows, please get them to Kim at bandliaison@kamiakarts.org asap - this is your last chance to submit photos. The DVD is being finalized in the next day or so.
2. Student account statements should be going out in the next few days. If you have any outstanding debt, you can bring your payments to the concert and place them in the secured box in the band room. We need to get all the balances to zero by the end of the school year. If you have questions about your balance or debt, please contact student accounting at kpab.studentaccounts@gmail.com.
3. All tuxedos must be returned before the end of the school year. Symphonic students who are not performing at graduation need to return their tuxes no later than the end of the concert evening on June 7th. A $25 late fee will be charged to students who have not done so. If your student is not wearing his tuxedo to the concert, he can return it either on Monday at the band concert or at 6:30 on Tuesday, prior to the orchestra concert, to avoid the rush. All other tuxes can be turned in after the concert on Tuesday. Your student should bring a change of clothes to the concert so that he can change and leave his tux after the concert (and not get cold on the way home!). Additional tux turn in volunteers are needed for both Monday and Tuesday. Questions about tuxedo turn in and offers to help out can be directed to the orchestra tux coordinator, Marilyn Droz at drozmarilyn@msn.com or the uniform/tux chair, Jean Langenegger at uniforms@kamiakarts.org.
Also, if your student will not be needing his bow tie or tux shirt in the future and would like to donate it to the orchestra, they may turn these items in at the same time that they return their tuxedo. Tuxedo fees are not charged through KPAB and will not show up on the KPAB statement. They are billed directly through ASB. You can check whether your student still owes his tuxedo fee by looking on Parent Connect or contacting the school bookkeeping office. Seniors who owe this fee will not be cleared for graduation.
4. The orchestra end-of-year student party is on Monday, June 13th after school at Kaitlyn Anderson's house. (Thanks Gail!!!) Our wind/brass/percussion friends are, of course, welcome. Directions will be distributed in class. Food assignments are posted around the PAC. If you have questions contact orchestra liaison, Melanie Field at melanie1004@gmail.com. Kaitlyn’s house is on a private road with limited parking so carpooling is highly recommended and we will have students helpers directing drivers to appropriate parking places.
5. And while it may seem far off, summer will be over before we know it, so mark your calendars now for our orchestra camp/bbq/parent meeting on Tuesday, August 23. This is the same day as senior registration/business day, so be sure to plan to get that taken care of early in the allotted time period, so you will be ready for orchestra camp. This fun day is for all stringlings, including incoming 9th graders. Dress is casual. Gentlemen needing to sign out tuxes will need to come in a bit earlier, with other students arriving mid-afternoon. The bbq will start around 5:30 followed by a mini-performance and a parent meeting. Watch your email and your regular mail box for more details over the summer. And lots of helpers are needed, so please contact Michelle Reichenbach, our BBQ chair at 1966mlr@gmail.com, if you can help out.
For those of you who are not returning to the orchestra program next year, please know that I have really enjoyed working with your kids (and many of you parents too!!!) and will miss them and you. Wishing you a festive end of year and them a bright future.

I put "Symphony Nol 2 in D Major" on You Tube so the orchestra kids could see their performance. It is in two parts, so YouTube would except it. Here's a link, they sounded Great!
